    rattling ammunition's containers

dont know about you fellas but any noise drives me to distraction when out hunting.....my hearing is bad enough as it is without unwanted and un needed rattles.
found a solution today,,,,cut your old used foam earplugs into 2-3-4 slices and drop down into bottom of the cavity of plastic shell holder so the pointy end of projectile has something to rest on...Ive got small lint free cloth inside the lid so now both ends of cartridge are against something soft...noise is just about completely gone....
no more rattles for this K1W1 .

I carry my ammo in a soft pouch with loops, so no rattling there.
One thing that has always bugged me is water sloshing around in water bottles, so I use collapsible bottles so there is no air in them.

I use those holders you get federal power shock in. No rattles at all and the camel back takes care of the sloshing water.

We use either rifle stock ammo loop holder or in the case of 22 a leather belt with loops. Used to be double stacked and hold 50 rounds but have cut in half and made into 2 separate 25 round belts so one of the kids can wear one as well and share the load....
I generally use a filter straw and drink directly from creeks or river ( have had giardia in the past and don't want it again, hence the filters) or if going somewhere ' dry' have a collapsible bag that also has a filter that I can top up at a creek etc if the opportunity arises.
My biggest noise issue is my teenagers moving through the bush like a herd of tap dancing hippos.....

I use 303 chargers to hold my 308 ammo in lots of 5 wrapped in a piece of 4”x2” cleaning flannel.

I hate rattles more than game animals do.

if you use poweraid bottles...squash them when partly empty so no airspace left and no room to slosh....not so easy with your canteen style....HAD a charlies sports water bottle for years that just never sloshed at all.

mtm make a brown plastic ammo wallet thing that really good and light. for other trips that weights not an issue frankfort arsenal have 20 round ammo vaults that are also good.

As @Steve123 says, those Federal 10-cartridge holders are good. I have a few in large & small rifle sizes for the various hunting calibres I use.
Small enough to carry in the chest pocket of my hunting shirt.

Wow some of you carry allot of spare rounds, what's the normal? I have 4x in the gun and 4x in my pack, never used more than a couple on a walk. If doing a long trip I will have a few more at the base camp not many though.
