Looks like an alright price. $460 NZD delivered from Amazon. 240v NZ/AU plug.

The reviews dont look good. Parallel selling? Got stung on TM by not looking at the reviews of the seller. This equipment sometimes is best to get it thru a reputable dealer. Suck up the cost. Got the 1500.

I thought Amazon was fairly trustworthy. The chargemaster lite is rated 4.7 out of 5 and sold/shipped by amazon themselves rather than a third party. Am I missing something here? Maybe it is too good to be true.

I would go with the normal chargemaster. Mine is awesome. Importing from USA was much cheaper. I think I got mine from brownells when they had 25 percent off

I run the charge master lite and its great.

Bought mine from a local gun shop. It seemed very expensive, but I'm a pensioner, so everything seems expensive. But I'm very happy with how it woks, and its accuracy. My advice? Buy it, especially at that price..

Had no issue with my charge master lite, been really happy with it.

Perhaps email and enquire about the warranty process with its destination being NZ. It may be likely that the local distributor won't want to know about it. So long as there's a process to send it back if required.

I have bought virtually all my reloading gear ex USA and that included big ticket items like my Chargemaster and Benchsource annealer.

Nowadays if buying say a Chargemaster I would look at local prices and seriously consider those.
Ex USA now everthing is much dearer to ship. Returning for warranty is also much dearer to ship and a hassle in some cases.
And depending upon where you purchase they may collect gst on behalf of our govt.

There will still be a saving but you need would weight up how worthwhile that saving is.

My Chargemaster scale shit itself. Brownells were sympathetic but it was just outside the warranty (relatively short) period so no assistance there.
In NZ you may also be able to pressure a local supplier under the consumers guarantee act.

I am now very careful about purchasing anything containing electronics from overseas. Dies etc no issue.
My last purchase was a US$15 watch. No great damage if it dies.

I sure there are many who will now post about their great deals. All I'm saying is it's not as good as it used to be and you need to balance the saving against dealing with the issue of the item going belly up and no local support. And a for example Chargemaster if purchased overseas will have no local support.

It does pay to support local suppliers specially on big ticket items that you only buy once, If people stop buying
the suppliers will not bother to stock anything, At the present time even the American suppliers are stuffed and the freight
times are crazy one parcel I got in 6 days the next one from the same supplier sat in Florida for a month, Also some of the
sellers charge ridiculously high freight rates, Amazon and Ebay collect GST on everything so the savings may not be that good
and the manufacturer may not honour the warranty .

This is a no-brainer.
$NZ 450 landed including GST collected by Amazon vs $650 local (and nobody has any stock so that's that)
I've always found Amazon very reliable and this is the official RCBS store

Given the usual RRP in the US is $299 plus tax (which is $505 including GST) why is the NZ price 30% more?
The retail margin is already included in the above $299 which provides for cost to serve
What kind of margin is the local distributor Sportways taking?

NZ Post no longer offers shipping for anything even slightly firearms related so having Amazon ship direct is a score

These are good, bought one from Nanchez years ago. First one arrived all smashed up in box, took a picture of it and they sent me out another.

As stated the US is a big place and min wage varies from where you are, but to say 7.50 per hr "a few years ago" and compare to current NZ rates is BS.
For example Amazon is advertising Starting rates at $15 for new employees.
A few years ago I was only earning $7.50 an hr too.
The current rate @ $20 doesnt get you very far o nthe property ladder or in the grocery store. You would think that NZ retailers would be a bit more sympathetic to their min wage employees, but thats no the case, instead they petition Govt to put GST into overseas products.
As for the timber shortage.... dont get me started, I could show you thousands of cubic meters of NZ milled timber, it aint being sold here though.

We could do this all night to back up perspectives. YOU stated thats what they were paid SEVERAL years ago, I am bringing a more current point of view. Dont get ya knickers twisted mate, we are being shafted here on what we can pay (for goods) and what we get paid.

20 + years ago I moved to $10 Tauranga and I got paid $10 an hr so that was what it was. I got a better job and got paid $20 an hr, but in the proceeding 20 years that roles starting rate hasnt increased, Thats a big shift in purchasing power. Flap ya arms all ya want I am not going to back up counter arguments add infinitum, thats me done.
