    Re:Factory Ammo .308

Looking at maybe getting some factory ammo for my Tikka 595 .308
What brand produces a good tight group in 150gr soft point
Without being silly & paying $3+ per shot like some one with a .270wsm I know

If you want an accurate factory load your going to have to try a variety to see what your gun likes - the differences can be amazing. Your rifle might even tack drive Barnal

If you are shooting less than 500m you will just be wasting money testing different brands. Point, aim, fire, drop.

The other problem is the local sport shop will have maybe 1 brand & be charging like a wounded bull as always.
Nearest H&F is 50 km away but there's some good info here already.

155gr Remington corelockets the go. Had federal but ended up with brass all through the action, bad batch maybe, but wasn't impressed at all. Have hand loads for long range drop chart blah blah, but don't use much. Still plenty of blood flowing!

I have found that my Rem700 loves Belmont, and at about $33 a box of 20 its pretty cheap.

Thanks for the input guys ,after stumbling on ammo that was recommended by a professional hunting guide
Managed to pick up a couple of box's fairly cheap but only after looking at ballistics & performance info .
I thought $40 a box was OK ,that's $13 a box cheaper than local sport shop.
