    Reduced loads

    Hi All
I have been looking for some reduced loads to do for my young fella that wont knock him around and create flinches etc
The Hodgdon powder H4895 can be swapped for ADI 2206 H
    https://www.hodgdon.com/PDF/H4895%20...le%20Loads.pdf

The 270 load I am going to try should be user friendly especially with a suppressor
The Out put data for recoil I got from JBM
    Recoil
    Input Data
Charge Weight: 36.2 gr Muzzle Velocity: 2600.0 ft/s
Firearm Weight: 8.5 lb Bullet Weight: 110.0 gr
    Output Data
    Recoil Velocity: 7.7 ft/s Recoil Energy: 7.8 ft•lbs
    Recoil Impulse: 2.0 lb•s

    JBM/jbmrecoil-5.1.cgi

    Versus

    Recoil
    Input Data
Charge Weight: 60.0 gr Muzzle Velocity: 3100.0 ft/s
Firearm Weight: 8.5 lb Bullet Weight: 130.0 gr
    Output Data
    Recoil Velocity: 11.5 ft/s Recoil Energy: 17.5 ft•lbs
    Recoil Impulse: 3.0 lb•s

    JBM/jbmrecoil-5.1.cgi

    Cheers

try 51.5 grains of 2209 fairly mild load which is half a grain over minimum with 130 grain bullets will be even less if using the 110grain, seeing you are using a suppressor the recoil will not knock him around even with a 130 grain bullet

Recoil should be nothing more than a gentle push with a suppressor. In fact, a slower powder and more of it should produce even less recoil with a suppressor. Is yours an over-barrel design? Some designs have better muzzle brake effects than others.
