    Reloading for 260

Took a mate hunting last weekend. Hes hooked and bought a brno 260 today.
Looking for any headsups on reloading for it. ADI will be the prefered powder brand.
Below is from trade me blurb
    This is a 1989 Brno ZKK-601.
Originally a .243, I re-barrelled it in the late 90's with an original 'Trueflight' barrel in Rem .260. Barrel is 20"

    Cheers

Ah, so that's where it went, disappeared off my watchlist! I had asked the owner about twist rate and mag length etc but answers didn't really answer much. If its 1 in 9" or faster I would be looking at the 140gr projectiles, and slower and you might run into trouble stabilising them. I will send you some of the loads I had going through my 20" model 7

if you want to try a cheap bullet, 120 Sierra worked very well in my 6.5x55.

I considered buying that one as well Gibo, partly because it was being sold local to me-but I reckon she'll be an awesome little unit.

Can't help with the question though, I am only just trying to get a kit together to start reloading so I know nothing!

If he's talking about the Pro Hunter I completely agree. Shot 1/3 groups in my Tikka @100 and now one hole groups at 50m in the Forbes (4 Power scope).
Kill bloody well on deer with out blowing up too much but also expand well when just shooting the lungs out.
    It's my go-to in 6.5 now.

I'd concur re the 120 Sierra as they are very consistent and very underrated.
I'm running 140 Amax and the 130 Swifts. Excellent accuracy and performance on deer.

Most people using ADI 2209 powder for their 260s?

Be interesting to see how much faster the Hodgon Superperformance is.

Sounds like a good start. 2209 and 120 sierras. His fist centrefire so he wont be shooting deer past 200 for a while
