    Reloading 38/55

Reloaded some of the above with ADI 2206H, 21grains, 1100 FPS, replacing black powder, to much fouling in small calibre.
On firing have residual unburnt powder in barrel? Take it I’m getting primer flash over and not enough powder in the case? So either change to say trailboss for more bulk or put a filler in to hold powder against primer? Using small lubed lead projectile, about 250 grain.

If I was at home I'd run it in Quickload for you but I'm not. Google the 60% rule for H-4895 (the same thing) and I'm sure you'll find heaps of data.

I say trailboss, would be the ticket, should fill the case well enough to prevent, a double charge, witch is always a risk, with reduced loads and fillers.
I've seen two blown rifles, and one very expensive shotgun, from double charge, the shotgun owner, gave me his Mec 9400 hydraulic press, as I'm the only other guy, he know's with a 16ga,

Do they still make that, it was brilliant for cast loads but then it disappeared. In the 38/55 ive had good results with imr 4227 with no filler and no left over powder. Upping the charge a few grains will improve burning and only push you over the sound barrier but a faster powder isprobably better.

Lyman cast bullet hand book has a start load of 7.0 grains of Trail Boss max 9.5 for 1148 fps
2207 is good for cast in just about any black powder cartridge it is the same as H4198
Lyman has a start load of IMR4198 24.0gr for 1497fps it is their accuracy load for Lyman 375248 249 gr
