Im sure murmom primers are hard. Someone here should be able to confirm if this is correct
Yeah they are a fairly hard primer @Toby they used to make primers for PMC which I used to use exclusively in my bolt actions (308 and 6.5x55 CG) when I snaffled up a couple of thousand of them for cheap as at the time I was having issues with FTF's using CCI LR primers and the murom/PMC ones I was getting no FTF's. Dunno what murom primers are like these days as it has been a while since i used them under the PMC label but I know one or two forum members had FTF's in their semis while using them maybe they could make a comment on it. I do not know if any other manufacturers make primers exclusively for semis.Quote:

A high primer in a auto no matter what it is could have the same effect...
No one posts each week that they fired 26 rds and they were all sweet, you only hear of that 1 slam fire... At a ratio of 1:1,000,000,000 prob :)
A slam fire or a high primer? Too late after the fact to tell.
I'll keep using them that's for sure.
FL size all your brass and make sure primers are below flush and shoot it.
BTW where's the pics?? :D
Another thing that speeds up the possibility of slam fire shots is having crap in the bolt causing the firing pin to sit forward and strike the primer when the bolt closes.Quote:

The steyrs had the issue with some rounds cause of sand and shit in the firing pin hole in the bolt. Would be much the same for any rifle with a floating bolt. Caused some scary UD's for some people. But then they had some soft primers as well which didn't help. And that was a few rounds in a batch of tens of thousands.
But without photos and checking batches of primers it could be a freak occurrence. I've never had any problems with any primers.
