So I have a lee press and the primers pop out into a small hopper on the side which drops them into a tube.
Where and how does the primer go on other press's?

You really do have the worries of the world on your shoulders at times there Toby...I just unscrew that little plate and let them fall on the floor...that way I never have to empty the tray...I hope you get some sleep tonight as this is a most demanding subject you have brought up here.
I like that comment Spook! Toby I recycle my primers!
Toby, have you got the plug in the end of the tube?
I have got the funnel leading into an empty powder container, that way I don't have to empty it so often.
I would say that most press' are similar in design.
Yeah I have the end capped. I empty the spent ones into a jar when it starts filling up
I just bought a lee for the same purpose Mauser
I had a lee c frame press a while ago (broke it while trying to use a stuck case remover as a result of using Hornady one shot case lube) and I used to have to unbolt it from the bench to clear the spent primer compartment when it got full. the really old lyman crusher press I had afterwards had a removable tray that clipped to the front of the press that the primers used to fall into
I had one of those many years ago as well but all got sold, I just got a C press but I usually have the primers come fairly easy
My 30yr old Lee classic press is the same as yours except there is no tube so I empty it out into the scrap when it's full, primers are copper and brass.
My Loadmasters decap the primers into the inside of the press's ram. It has a trap door on the bottom of the ram to empty it out.
My Lyman Press decaps through the ram like the lee but primers end up on the floor because it never came with the primer catcher. I sweep these up later.
My Forster Press decaps into a tube that has a jar attached to the end.
Cheers
Pete
Mine fall out of a tube at the bottom of the press into a 20 litre bucket. Which i have to empty at least twice a week because of the number of brass i process regulary for reloading. I wish
mine fall on the floor,it came with a plastic tray thing but have never taken it out of the box

I'm liking the lee idea the best so far.
My rcbs one has a tray to catch the primers but it only catches about half of them. The floor seems to be the easiest option.
My hornady one seems to catch them all
my rcbs has a shit tray that once most dont go in anyway but end up getting tipped out when you tilt and un clip the tray
have modded it with a tube but still only catches half
not good if you deprime some live ones and roll the chair over them
been looking for a press for decap only, looks like lee has the best idea
lee, half in tube, half on floor, all dont care, not my floor :P
Put that primer tool in gibo and they all go in the tube
