So we sold our house built a shed to live in well new house is being built and now I finally get a loading and gun room.

How much space have you got to work with? (I mean length x width x height)
Do you stand or sit to reload (this is about bench height).
How much gear do you have, eg presses, tumblers, scales etc.
Room is 3.6 x 3 with a 2.4 stud

I would be lining it with 17mm ply, it will give you heaps of fixing to hang stuff off. 18MM custom wood (mdf) would be another option but it hates been damp, decent soild door and lock it will be a pretty secure room
+1 for ply, 12 mm ply would suffice and gives you all sorts of options for fixing
Yea walls will be lined with 9mm ply on both sides and I have a solid door with deadbolt lock.

At least two benches, so you can have press/tumbler/etc and scales on separate benches so you can seat/tumble/etc without affecting scales.

Enough space to set up a good reloading room. I was wondering if you were gonna have to cram your gear in alongside other stuff, and was gonna suggest that you use shelving up to the ceiling to store your bits and pieces.
If it were me, I'd build a really solid bench that ran 2 sides of the room. Personally, I think you can never have enough workspace to sort stuff out.
Also, an overhead light for the bench. If you're using electronic scales, fluoro lights tend to affect them.
Thanks for all the help guys I've got a 32mm bench from pacemakers as they always have damaged kitchen benches.
Next will be shelves for dies etc and then hooks on blank wall for hunting clothes.

Make sure your bench where you'll fix the reloading press is sturdy.
My first one I cracked where it was bolted to bench.
The thing I found most helpful is to google pictures of reloading rooms. So many ideas to look through and think about.
I just move my chair. If for example your right handed it's going to be only on the right of you anyway. I can imagine powder projectiles and stuff getting stuck in those rails.Quote:
