Thread: REM700 bolt problems

Got a 280ai that’s been in the gun safe for a few months cos I’ve been playing round with other projects. Got it out to run some loads. Bolt very hard to close - hand loads & factory 280. Not all rounds but most. Never was like this in past. Checked brass - col is fine, tried shoulder bumping a couple of fired rounds, made no difference. On close inspection of case rim (head) I noticed a small mark. Up close you can see small chunks of brass has been shaved off. See photo.
Then looking at bolt face I see small brass shavings. Me thinks this is an extractor issue ?
Any ideas how to fix ?
