Sorry, I thought the cartidge had the groove. If its the chamber with a recess I would take it to a good gunsmith to make sure it is not a crack and then get his opinion on rechambering if safe. If you bought the rifle new and it has been doing this since brand new with commercial loads then kimber should become involved. Gunsmith examination in the first instance.
Dropped of to the gunsmith for a good polish...thinks swarf may have got caught when barrel was cut (or something like that) and happened at production. Is contacting agent.

Welll, bit hard to imagine this would simply be from a pickup during chambering. You'd expect the material to be partially round the periphery, not a solid ridge like the pics suggest. Not good QC either way if it left the factory like that.Quote:

Who was it that suggested out with the hacksaw and internally inspect? Bit dear on a chamber though, but I still say it's worth it for the education of the great unwashed on here!!!!!!!

Going to fire new cases and size with Lee neck collet sizer. Once fired case on left.
