Thread: Rossi Monty 25 acp

Hi Guys
having some trouble here
A while back i built a wee rifle Rossi Monty and fitted a 25acp barrel Ammo all went off
some brands shot better than others as usual
Bought some new boxes of ammo 25 ACP wont fire light strikes
but if i reload these tiny shells with replaced primers they all fire off with gusto

At a guess... Your reloads are holding case firmer and probably further back than the problematic factory loads.

Sounds like a headspace issue . Put some tape on the base of around which will not fire and see if the action will close , if it does close keep adding tape until it won't . that will give a ball park figure as to how much bigger the chamber is ?????.

as it was a cheep 410 shot gun action it my be a little miss aligned @ the hinge
i can try and pack there to change head space .
Too much and it wont close and lock

If reloads are going bang.just live with it as it is and once factory has fired into longer an issue. I take it you have tried double n triple strikes?? Really easy with hammer gun,just recock n try again. The other thing I've struck is with bakail break opens...if the cocking,opening lever isn't right down again it will give light strike if at all,goes click but pin doesn't strike at all.pushing lever down firmly when loading solves this issue.

I redid the chamber ---- was dreading this hahaa but it was easy enough
now i can get back to wacking Wabbits havent seen a possum yet

Hi All reloading the tiny 25 ACP with big fingers is interesting
a few grains of powder lost makes a very big difference - so i like to do this job over white paper
a .223 case fits inside the 25 real neat .I reload these one @ a time powder in projectile in and set
as the cases are to short to collect from a case holder ..
