If its an early 222 then twist rates were 1:14 later ones went to 1:12, the result is early ones may not shoot long boat tail 55grn bullets.

Hi Bos you a lucky man owning a vixen 222.Iv never heard of one till 2 weeks ago.My daughters boy friend brought a 222 up to my place. The vixen hadn't been fired for 13 yrs and he wanted to shoot some roos.So last Saturday went out to the range, gave barrel a clean, fired 3 shots, woow all 3 in a 2 inch group with old ammo, then we zered on ball with new ammo,1/2 moa at a 100yds.
I didn't know the drop at 200yds,so fired 3 at 200yds,hmm 7 inch drop, woow I didn't expect it to drop that much at 200yds.Any how I guess we know where we are shooting at 200yds.
Went into wallaby country that evening, seen a few (40) at 400 to 800yds then one made a mistake standing up at 253 yds.So the 222 lined wally up,2 inchs above the head, bang flop the wally dropped on the spot.Bloody good shot clean thru the sholders.
Nice little rifle, needs new scope and suppresser.Wooden stock like new.
I was impressed, enjoy yr new toy Bos.
