    scales

    Heya team.
what do you guys recommend ?
    i do a little , generally on a 270wsm and 708 for the boy.
Will eventually sway to 223 , but still fairly cheap at the mo.
My little digital hornady scales can be fairly tempermental , solid table , doors closed etc etc. but it can drive me nuts
What do you guys use / recommend. I dont want to break the bank but doing the 50 last night , i wanted to smash those little scales
to bits , the way it danced through the weights. lol
took me alot longer than one would have liked.
    Thanks in advance

Another vote for beam scales. And if you take the time to watch this knowledgeable ole geezer on YouTube you'll understand why...

    Greetings Vtkomene,
I have two sets of scales. My original Ohaus 5.0.5 purchased around 1970 and a RCBS Chargemaster 1500 without the dispensing stuff, purchased more recently when I thought my old ones had worn out. They hadn't it was just a tiny bit of steel wool stuck to the magnet that was brushing the beam. Both are excellent and I use them in series when assembling test series, charging the cases on the RCBS and then transferring the pan to the Ohaus as a check. The two scales agree on charge weights. The beam balance scales measure mass while the electronic scales measure weight which is the reason why they need to be calibrated rather than just zeroed when setting up. To be honest I could get by with either but a decent set of beam balance scales would be easier on the pocket. Steer well clear of any of the cheaper scales of either type for the reasons you have already discovered.
    Regards Grandpamac.

Most of his vids go for around 35 minutes. Mostly good stuff but I usually only survive half way. Have developed old persons attention span deficit.

    Greetings Zimmer,
Rather than old persons attention span deficit I prefer to think of it as an increasing inability to suffer waffle gladly. Others may use a different phrase for this.
    Regards Grandpamac.

I still use my LEE balance beam scales...got a set of ohau ones but ,yeah nah the lee just as good...if you think they too slow, buy set of lee spoons and owder trickler,or just trickle last bit in off teaspoon...unless Im doing more than 50 rounds at a time I dont even bother using powder thrower, and I do know how accurate it is,just enjoy measuring every charge.
