My 308 shoots these equally well at about 2730 fps MV (17"). Is there any noticeable difference on red deer size animals (either close or far, say 350 ish).

Just shot a Bull Tahr at 600 yds with an impact velocity of 1742fps & the 155gr TMK absolutely smashed it on the spot. So far been very impressed with everything the TMK's have been used on.
both match bullets (tmk and eldm) work very well on longer ranges, when impact velocities are reasonably low. Really close range, their "frangibility" might cause underpenetration when hitting bone/shoulderblade.
Id personally only use them for longer ranges.
According to research done by american shooters published on the interwebs tmks are a bit tougher than eldms...
