    Sight in for subsonic 308

    Hi guys

Interested to see how others have setup their scopes for running subs and supersonic in the same setup.
    16.5 inch barrel
    1-4x20 leupold
I’m obviously not trying to chase crazy range with this thing, all my shootings probably under 200m

    Cheers

I have to dial 6moa up to get my subs zeroed at 50yds from my supersonic zero.

Either a graduated scope or 45 degree angled red dot off to one side of the scope for close range subs would probably be easiest.
We use graduated scope on 357/38 and use the center for 357 and the appropriate hash mark for subs in 38 at whatever range we want subs zeroed at

Cheers I’ll have a play tomorrow, I’ll get a 1-5 or 6 x20 cds or similar if I have to. Kind of hoping I might have a point on the turkey plex I can use as hold over.

Same as Stug. +6MOA gets me good to 60yards.
Experience. What you get just after you needed it.

Mine is +5MOA between subsonic and my normal hunting load. It’s really easy to just dial for the change in ammo. I made a small red paint dot on the elevation dial, easy to see.

3 in difference for mine @ 50m,just hold 3in higher on target if shooting subs, only really good for 50m on small game anyways in my opinion.

Can you still get an after market turret that will go on to the leupold vx1? Think it was called s1?

Having been disappointed with the performance of 300BLK subsonic (see my recent thread), I got my hands on some supersonic rounds. I would still like the option to use subsonic rounds, so have been playing with a ballistic calculator. Interesting results with a 50m zero. Have yet to try it in the real world, but it could work out well for me where 50m would be a long shot.

Sub X are the subsonic rounds and FTX are supersonics.

Yea I did read your other thread. I was well on the path so may as well try now. I’ve got some Winchester 308 subsonic 185g to try but if I like the way they go on paper I’ll try and get some lehigh controlled fracture to hunt with.

Some quick shooting today looks as though the subs zeroed at 50m will put my supersonic rounds 3inches high at 50m (you told me so)!!
Will try again tomorrow, might have another mark in the scope that might match the subs.

1/8, no surprise considering quick effort at lunchtime on 4 power. Pretty happy today, my turkey plex has a mark under duplex which subs are bang on at 50m and supersonic bang on with duplex at 50m
