Fired my shot for March about an hour ago.
Didn't feel great. Cross hair settled to the left of the target after I released it, but that's shooting😆

Still, it's good enough for a head shot at 200😆

    I forgot to post up April's result.😆

Shot before I went away in April.

I shot a goat at 480 yrds and had a central hit on steel at 500 yrds since.

I thought I must have lost zero when I adjusted the tension on my saddle mount before my roar trip.

However a check at 100 had it bang on for 200 zero so no excuses.
It was a drizzly day with a bit of wind but it was coming straight down into my face. More to do with setup I reckon causing the slight drift.

    April

    May.
Not sure what is going on.
Have had a similar wind down the range for the last few shots and I doubt it would shift the group that far at 200.
Confirmed zero at 100 with a 3 round group that couldn't get anymore central.
My position setup is a routine I have followed for years so if it turns out to be something I am not picking up in that, I need to sort it.😆

Last 3 rounds measure .65 and shot since March.

@R93, would it be about "canting" the rifle?

Very well could be. But I would expect with a tilt to the left the group to go a bit higher left than it has.
    I don't use a bubble.

I fired a 3 round group at 100 from the same position straight after firing this shot.
It went in a clover leaf, bang on center line 1.4" high.
But it is definitely food for thought thanks Mac.

I know how you feel, it happen with me too and then i keep thinking "what have i done wrong?", actually "nothing important, i just forgot to think about how the target was up and if i did aligned the reticle with the "diamond/center dot", if the target itself is a bit canted and you adjust the reticle to it your shot can and will go "sideways" too.
About the canting direction, it actually make the shot goes a bit "lower".

Ryan D'Paul on youtube, series "Road to Precision", somewhere in his videos he actually shot a sequence with the rifle canting in different angles with pretty cool results. I will share here the specific video if i find it.

I am happy i said something that was somehow useful. LOL.

The more I think about it the more I think you are right.
The range backing has no straight lines at all. Just bush.
I had a high post to staple the target to up high so I could see over the closer mounds from the firing line.
That post has been pulled down and I am having to use a cross beam to fix the target to. To get height I am stapling it right at the bottom.
I will put my level on next month when I shoot it and we will see😆

I have to fly to brisbane first thing in the morning for a couple weeks.

@R93. If you drift any further left you will be voting for Labour or even the Greens next election.
The range of what we think and do is limited by what we fail to notice. And because we fail to notice that we fail to notice, there is little we can do to change; until we notice how failing to notice shapes our thoughts and deeds

Nah. A slight drift left just places R93 next to Genghis Khan and within touching distance of Donald Trump. .

Chingis, I don't think was very left, for one, he did what he said. Plus established free trade, passports, fast mail system, religious freedom, state rule without religion, knew how trade and money works, had a good justice system, etc....

Would ambient temp be affecting powder burn rates?

Thought of everything except cant as I do not normally have an issue with it.
Was pretty warm in March and April when I shot so most likely not powder temp but I won't count it out.

I will setup as normal when I try it again in June and will know rather quickly if it is a cant issue. My gut is telling me it is where to start at least.
