However, the target does raise questions around cleaning, round count, duration between shots, etc. Ie if you hadnt fired the monthly shots, would the 3 shot be the same due to duration or being the third shot, etc..

Cleaning is not an issue.
My barrel does not foul, does not have a clean cold barrel issue regarding zero/POI just velocity is effected.

Last 4 shots over 4 months are just not where my 100 zero says they should be.

I think I may have worked it out and I will check it next month.

I like repeatabilty, because you can calc it out etc. Your gear is top notch, your otcd on reloading, and your process for this is very sound in my thinking, so variables are up for discussion.

Righto. I have to eat a bit of humble pie for overlooking/dismissing something so obvious.

Wind😆
Our range is situated in a draw at the foot of some decent hills.
I shot this project roughly at the same time of day everytime on fine days and did not take into account the katabatic wind coming around a ridge adjacent to our range.
It appears to come down the draw into your face but it is actually a full value wind of 4.5-6mph most of the day until it warms up a bit, especially from late summer till now.
I have discussed my frustration with a longtime hunting mate and avid shooter who alerted me to it and when tested over the last few days it appears he was spot on.

I also smacked a drink can full of water today, dead center at 250m with only elevation dialed in over a flatter area with a tail wind of 1-2mph.

A 4.5 mph full value wind on my Calc at 200 is a 1.2" drift.
The mpi of the last 4 shots fired is 1.2" left of zero😆
I feel pretty stupid for overlooking the wind component but I am chuffed I have gotten to the bottom of it and it is not an equipment issue which I was leaning towards.

I should have picked it up when I was shooting my AR at the same range and the group was a smidgen further left again but I put it down to sight picture with a red dot almost blotting the target out.
I will keep the experiment going as I have 5 more shots to do but it will try to shoot it later in the day if possible when there is less wind or dial the half minute required.

I get I told you so about a lot of things. Especially by my wife😆

I just didn't factor the wind in because of how unlikely it would be of similar direction and strength over several months. But due to the terrain it is.

The first shot out to the left I thought the butt slipped a bit in my shoulder and called it a bad shot due to where my follow thru settled.

Another mate suggested testing my 200 zero in another location so he may have been thinking along the same lines.

However we live and learn.
Just glad I have an answer now no matter how simple it was.😆

And thanks for the tips also Dave. Didn't think a 5-7mph wind at 5 o'clock would be an issue at 100 but hey now I know to look at everything when deciphering stuff. Just sucks being fussy down to fractions of an inch

July.
Awesome day for a change here on the coast.
Cleaned my barrel with solvent and bronze brush.
Run some patches till they come out clean and headed up the range with my kestrel in my range bag.

There was a 4mph wind coming up the range at 5 o'clock. Clearing SW. Tested every 50m just to be sure😆
No windage needed.
Settled in after some dry firing and let her rip.
Cold clean barrel back in the black😆
