    Sonic Cleaners

I got one of these a while back thinking it would be good to get all the carbon off the internals of my brass and have been impressed with the job it does. Until the day I wanted the brass dry in a hurry and swabbed a handful out with cotton buds. The amount of crap that came out on the buds was surprising.
Its a Hornady, i use their solution and size and de-prime before cleaning.
Am I missing something in the process or expecting too much/being a bit anal?

I've been using mine for about 5yrs now, and the addition of about half a teaspoon of citric acid/2ltr water works really well, no crap inside worth mentioning. Mine is a heated unit, set to approx 30deg, for 45min. Just leave them in the sun or airing cupboard for a day.

Supermarket, baking products, about $1.50. Rinse in boiling water helps speed up drying process.

sdogg, try a lactic acid product.

as seen as your in hastings, your local farm lands should have either a product called kiwi lustre or jewel. (kiwi lustre might actually be a fruitfed product) talk to them and ask for a product with lactic acid as the active ingredient its used for washing kiwifruit or probably apples too. you spray it on.
I mix it 50/50 or maybe a little weaker. I use it in a beaker inside the sonic cleaner. after I rinse out brass in dish washing water, then another rinse in straight hot water.
    it works great.

Cheers, I'll give these couple a go and see how it goes. The addiction of reloading seems to bring on more little quirky problems to overcome

I used to ultrasonic clean my brass and then stick it in the oven at 30-40 degrees for half an hour to dry them out but these days I wonder if it is really worth it ok the brass is nice and shiny and clean but as per VC's comment just as easy to just clean the inside of the neck (bore brush in chuck of cordless drill) and clean the primer pocket and get the brass ready for loading.
