    Sourcing projectiles from the US

I am hoping to source some 88gr 30cal inceptor projectiles. They aren’t available in NZ anymore but are advertised as being available in the states.

Sorry if it has already been explained, but I am looking for advise on how to do this if it can be done legally. Part of the difficulty looks like the US websites don’t provide an option to ship to NZ, but that could be just the start.

Importing into NZ is legal. As you mention, the possible difficulty is getting the supplier to ship / export. Comple and onerous regulations with hefty penalties scare many off from applying for export licenses allowing them to export. However, there are a few appropriately licensed firms that do export. One I'm willing to recommend because I've received good service with a couple of consignments is Reloading International in Oregon. They stock a range of reloading components, including some projectile brands, and could possibly help. If your plan is to obtain a brand they don't handle a prior enquiry asking about that, and what fees they might want to charge, is probably best.
Over the years I have imported bullets for personal use numerous times, mostly using USPS, which has been reasonably priced and reliable. However I suspect this is no longer an option sadly. I think some new US regulation was introduced earlier this year and shipping shooting related items with USPS is now prohibited. Actually, I need to contact Reloading International as I have some Barnes bullets I bought froma friend that I need to ship at some stage.
Best of luck with your plan.

I just had a USPS priority box with bullets and brass sent to an address in NZ from a mate in the US. No problem, and amazing fast. It isn't cheap to send lead bullets priority mail, but if you need them, you gotta pay the price.

Most companies that sell components, (non-hazardous) don't want to bother with the extra time and cost to ship to NZ or Australia from my experience. If you find someone to ship to you, make sure they use the reinforced tape around the boxes. The priority boxes have gotten really thin and weak in the past few years. If bullets, have them use a bag inside the box for additional help if the box gets smashed or cut.
    Cheers
