My experience with 308 Palma SRP brass versus Lapua 308 brass of similar weight is a small drop in velocity using the Palma. ~15 fps IIRC.
There is a lot of banging on about poorer ignition and the need to use magnum primers. I have never had ignition problems.
My SD's shrunk along with group sizes, not a lot, but enough to be recognisable. So, better or more consistant ignition.
The other theory is that due to the smaller primer pocket the case head is stronger and handles pressure better. Better for the "hot rodders" maybe. I have never loaded like that so wouldn't know.
My 6mmBR and 6.5x47L are also SRPs but as I don't have equivalent LRP in those I cannot give conclusions for them. The 6mmBR also runs a smaller than normal flash hole which I believe aids its excellent performance.
