I have moved from 162's (due to shortage) and would like some info on anyone's starting points for a Tikka t3x suppressed 24" barrel using Norma brass and 2217 powder 175eldx
Thanks in advance
Jonathan

61gr starting, 64.5gr max according to hodgdonreloading.com. max will have you somewhere around the 2700fps mark
Out of a 7mm mag T3 suppressed 22" barrel - 175 ELDX Norma Brass and 2217 my notes show:
64.0 gr - 2,599 starting load
65.0 - 2,688
66.0 - 2,693
67.0 - 2,766
68.0 - 2,777
68.5 - 2,812
69.0 - no reading
69.5 - 2,867 (Hot tight to extract ejector mark)
Just for interest sake FYI in march I re barreled to 7mm Saum 20" barrel 175 ELDX 2217 Bartilen brass (I think that's the name it was all I could get) Started with 61.0gn got 2,578 went up to 66 @ 2,836. Had loads of 66.5 and 67 but too hot so pulled them.
Have not used the 175 ELDXs but from experience with other pills I’d be thinking start mid 60s like 65 or 66 gn and work up carefully looking for pressure signs. This is pretty much in line with what @AMac has stated
Thanks for the info guys, hopefully I'll get loads done up over the silly season and test them out
I played around with these in my A7 rem mag, 2217 with federal brass and cci 250 primers.
Ended up with a load at 69.5 grains of 2217 at 2950 fps.
I used Hogdon data for H1000 and worked up from their starting load if 61 grains.
I recently changed to norma brass and it seems to go similar pressure wise as I've just finished tuning my 162 ELD-X load and ended up same charge as with my old federal brass. Hope that helps
I should ad, these were not mag length rounds, I had them at 3.420" I'm pretty sure.
Greetings @falcon6555,
Might pay to check your barrel twist first. Hornady recomends a 1 in 8.5 inch minimum twist for this projectile. Most 7mm Rem Mags are slower than that. The projectile may shoot OK at shorter range and turn to custard further out.
Regards Grandpamac.
