    Sub sonic 7-08

Hi Guys I'm after some help please.

Firstly is it legal to purchase self-hand-load ammo?

Secondly, if so I'm after some 7-08 subsonic rounds if someone has a "recipe" and could load them for me. I can supply the once fired remington brass.

Not after anything to flash just a soft point sub to shoot over my pup please.

Am South Auckland based and obviously prepared to pay.

    Ta Mike

Pretty sure it's legal to purchase handloaded ammo (as long as you have a FAL of course), but they recently brought in some rules around people selling ammo need to be registered or some such.

I've had a quick look thru the legislation, and it looks like seller has to keep records if it is run as a business but otherwise no issues around buying/selling ammo.
I did find about having to sellers having to register with the police, it's in the Arms Amendment Regulations 2021, but also looks like it only applies if being done as a business or part of a business.

You need to be careful with loading Subs in the 7mm calibres you need to use bullet around 120 grains the heavier bullets are too long to stabilise at 1040fps
If you don't mind a trip to Tokoroa I can help you out, get in touch 021 0272 4412
    Cheers

+1 for Roberts cast projectiles. They shoot well subsonic and easy to work up a load.
