So I managed to get another stuck case, no biggie I thought I've been here before. I drilled and tapped the case, got my washers and bolt and began to screw in the bolt to lever out the case. It was all going fine until the head of the bolt broke off :oh noes:
So I figured I would get some advice before I continue to make this worse. I did try to screw a nut on to what ever was let but the thread is a bit munted.
Let me know your thoughts,

File flats on that shit bolt, take it out and use a high tensile one!

Vice grips should get it out. Or hack saw the munted thread off put two nuts on tighten them against each other and wind it out
As a last resort you can unscrew the decapping pin from the top & remove it, poke a punch (an old screw driver will do at a pinch) down the hole and hammer the case out of the die from above.
I've had to do this in the past and it works fine with no damage to the dies.
Then go out and buy yourself some descent lube eh?

I reckon with all the stuck cases i have seen lube must be the problem.
the only trouble i have had is when i havnt re lubed the pad enough and they get a bit tight but just a touch more lube and it makes it easy.
I got some redding lube when i started reloading and i havnt used a full bottle yet and that would be ten years ago and one or two reloads.
Combine that with graphite wiped on the inside of the case neck with an old worn out brush and a bit of cleaning cloth and you will never be screwing another bolt into the bottom of your dies!
Thankfully, I haven't had any stuck cases yet.
As for lubing cases, this is what I'm now using (just to put another idea out there).

Ha Ha that's what I said and after 40 years of reloading I got one. (Something that I always treated with disdain as an issue that only happens to inexperienced reloaders.) And the cause, changing from my good old Lyman oil lube to a snakes oil spray on lube that the label guaranteed I could use for FLSing. BSQuote:

This was completely my fault not the lube, I was trimming cases and I wanted to quickly check I was sized ok and I barely used any lube. I had so many 223 cases to get through, I got lazy to save a few sec and it cost me hours.
Oh I use Dillon lanolin stuff, works well but its best to clean it off before doing the rest of the processing as it sticks dirt and powder to the case.

Use Targex recipe.
I find Dillon lube works best when still wet
You can wait till it dries but wet is best :)
Few hundred cases in a plastic bag, few pumps and jiggle the bag around - dump straight into case feeder
I haven't had much luck win the spray on lubricant. I use the hornady case wax. It's awesome stuff.
+1 on Dillon lube. Definitely the one for people who lube cases by the bag-full.
