    Superformance just coz.

So - I find myself with a few canisters of Superformance, got plenty of other suitable powders for my needs, this stuff is unfamiliar to me, do I bugger round with it or store it for a rainy day? Running .243 for just about everything, and about to start load development for my new .257

Anyone run Superformance in either of the afore mentioned cartridges? with what pills and results?

swap it for something you do know about...where its good its great, but it has narrow band of usefullness. big heavies in .30/06 being one where its good... its a funny stuff, some swear by it,others swear at it.

I load it in a number of cartridges .243,.260,.270,300wsm and Creedmoor.
It gives awesome speeds with very low SD.

Just wish there was a reliable supply in NZ but that is wishful thinking about any components in the current climate

    Now we're getting somewhere, cheers,
Barrel length and manufacture? Browning and Tikka barrels tend to run a little slower for more pressure than Winchester and Remington. Currently getting 2900fps with 105 Targex and non max load of IMR4451 in a 20" Rem barrel. Fed 210.

Good availablity here in GB as well at a reasonable price.

It's a slow burning ball powder, so meters well.

General rules for ball powder, don't ever run compressed loads, your ideal charge weight will be quite narrow, don't run small rifle primers in a 308 family case with it or you might get poor ignition/hang fires.

Lack of load data is down to Hornady, not Hodgdon, same as the LeverEvolution powder.

I was stoking 46gr into Lapua brass, cci200, Barnes 85gr TSX for 3200fps from 18.5" barrel. Accurate and kills the shit out of things.
