    Superperformance in a 260

Hay all, currently doing some load development on my standard model 7 260. 20inch bbl. Have spoken with a couple of the clued up fellas on here but the more info the better.

I have norma brass, some 130vlds and 130sierra gamechangers to try. Has anyone run these pills with superperformance and or 2209. Theres bugger all documented data on the superperformance powder. Just want safe starting charges. The 2209 I can figure out.

its a funny powder....info IVE seen says treat it as 2213 and start low working up.....the fine granuals are like winchester ball powder so the big advantage is you can fit more in a case....... load data has been scarce right from the get go and its NOT THE SAME powder used in superpreformance loaded rounds.

Yeah spoken with Neil, he knows his stuff for sure, just hoping some of the mod 7 boys had used the exact combo. Been a few of these little 260s floating round the forum

If the 2213 thing is correct it says 46.6 grains for max and 43 for min. That lines up bang on with what 25-08 said which is a start load of 43 -44 grains

I ran W760 in the Mod 7 I had, worked well with the 120gr Sierra. Had SF but never tried it due to a good start with this.

I use it in my Sako 260, I’m shooting the Sierra 130gn Gamechangers with 48gns (Lapua brass, fed 210M) for 2870fps, usual caution to work up to it.

Have you had a kill with the Sierra GC yet? If so what's your call on them?

In my M7 260 never tried SF but use both 2208 and 2209 easy to get good loads off of charts.

In my brother in law's Sako 260 we tried Superformance with the 143gr ELDX, 45 grs gave 2672 fps , 47grs was at 2800fps. With 2209 45 grs gave 2772Fps. With a 130 gr bullet these charge weights of powder should be fine but drop it down a few more grains and work up to be sure. I think his Sako has a 21 inch barrel on the Carbon light.

@Mathias so far I’ve been impressed with them, 1 fallow and 5 reds, from 20yds to 250, shoulder shots have all exited, more research next week hopefully

Did you measure speed at the same time? What weight powder charge with the 130 grs did you use.

Didnt have time unfortunately, the mod 7 barrel heated up fairly quick. Will validate out to 400 next week at some point. That group was 46.7 grains. Got up to 47.5 with no pressure signs but accuracy dropped off.
