    Tikka T3 1:12 twist , 223 Rem. 62gn projectiles

    Hi

I need to develop a load for 62gn projectiles for my 223.

Before I buy a box of bullets, is anyone else out there running 62gn projectiles out of a 1:12 twist barrel ?

    Chur ...

    Tim

Shot a lot of barnaul 62 gr soft point through mine no problems but a solid copper jobbie of the same weight may be too long to stableise.

I ve got the same rifle and twist rate. Only shot up to 55gr and even then some were better than others. Mine tends to like the lighter stuff ( 40gr V Max ) However the 55gr Hornady soft point is ok through it and a proven Deer killer and great on Goats , rabbits and whatever else I have used it on.
Be a good alternative if the 62 gr proves unstable.

This is useful to work out the stability of the projectile.

I know my 1:9 model 7 shoots 55g sierra gamekings very well, 69gr no where near as well.

Just use what ever weight I shoots best, as long as it's not a varmint bullet it should be fine for goats/deer.
