Shame I can't help out being local to each other.
I have the Sinclair tool to measure it exactly, but no 6.5mm comparator insert or Tikka guide.
Load a dummy round with light neck tension and a projectile way out. Chamber it if it touches the rifling it will mark the bullet and set it back in the case. Take a thou off and away you go.
I’m my Tikka 6.5x55 and with eld-x I have a coal of 3.2” which is just off the lands. Easy moa with 2209 powder.
I load my Tikka 6.5x55 to 79 mm which fit the magazine with tons of room to spare. That's with the 143 gr ELD X.
Mooseman what kinda power and charge are you running
What type of powder and charge are you running
My load is 49 grs AR 2213 SC with the 143 gr ELD X for a velocity of 2754 fps average out of a 20 inch barrel , have shot 5/8 inch group with this load. Work up to this load as it may not be safe in other rifles . I found when developing a load than while using that bullet even with lower charges and different powders, at 100 yards the point of impact was the same and they grouped well.
Thats true, a difference of a hundred fps or so at 100 yards wont always show up as a different poi. Its beyond 150 that the difference staris to be evident.
