Hi, has anyone used Trailboss powder in the 44 mag with sub loads? Want to load 225 Barnes, cheers.

9 grains of trailboss will be perfect.
8 grains can be slightly quieter if needed.
A big fast bullet beats a little fast bullet every time
Not sure VC
I've only used them on paper targets and a steel gong @100m so far.
I got good groups and I gotta say the 240gr xtp's cleanly dropped the paper where it was standing and fair made the Gong ring out.
The plan is to try them on some Goats over winter.
I'll let you know how I get on.
Cheers
Pete
Please do P38, I'm looking at either a Ruger 77/44 or Rossi Pumba or what ever they are in .44mag to run with subs and a suppressor so I'm keen to know.
I'm also thinking hollow point Cast Lead projectiles would be good for sub loads in .44mag
I use 310gr Cast flat points and 240gr HP berry`s copper washed bullets all at about 1025fps. Have never had much in the way of expansion with any sub loads so I now don`t consider expansion important. Its more like shooting with a cap and ball gun, large entry and exit and let it bleed out. I usually chest shoot deer and give them a few minutes to drop. They are usually within 40yds of where I shot them.
The pistol bullets will go right through and leave a round exit hole where the likes of the .303, 7.62x39 will tumble on impact and in past usually key holed their way out of the animal. With the .303 & 7.62x39 I ended up just useing military ball .
Hey tasbay. Do you get much meat damage or are you able to eat up to the hole?
