Using one powder across multiple calibres.

For those who live on tight budgets like I do this might have some relevance.

I currently use ADI2208 in both my 22-250 and .308 rifles. I have a new tub of this and won't splash for other powders due to cost.

So my question what other calibres would suit this powder as I would like to save for another rifle which could be at least 6 months away maybe more.

Been playing on the ADI site to see what would possibly suit as it reckons medium calibres such as but not limited to .270, 25-06, 7-08 and a few others.
    Happy Jack.

2208 goes in most everything except overbore magnums. It's possibly not the best choice for some but it will give you acceptable results. Along with 2206h they're my rifle powders now.

    Greetings,
AR2208 works well in the 7mm-08 with 140 to 150 grain projectiles I have tried and likely others as well and does not need compression. The similar IMR4064 was the go too powder in the .270 prior to IMR4350 being introduced in about 1940.

    I'm using it for 223 and 30.06.

As mentioned 2208 and 2206h are incredibly versatile.

You might give away 50fps or there about, I don't think the deer, goats or foxes notice it though.

223 would fill your stable well...shorter and lighter than your 22-250 and slightly cheaper to run.... not a lot of point in getting 7mm-08 or a 270 as both too close to the 308 already got.

I used it in my Baikal 223, worked well. ( 23” barrel )
When I swapped to a Savage with an 18” barrel, I swapped to 2206h, but I imagine the 2208 would still work
It’s just 2206h is a little faster burning.

Pretty much anything from 223 to 308, it may not be perfect for certain bullet weights/cartridges but it will work. Heavier bullets will be better.

Thanks everyone certainly food for thought and it might involve replacing one of the current rifles hence why asking what else is worth considering.

So perhaps looking at this the other way around might be worthwhile? What are you contemplating in the way of a new rifle?

    I use 2208 in my 223, 6XC, 7mm08 and 7mm creedmoor.
Going to start load development in 6ARC with it shortly.

yea 223, 6.5x55, 30-30, 8mm for me with 2208 ......... 8mm would be redundant as you have a 308 (unless you want a classic euro chambering)heavier projectiles better 170-195 gr
as micky said if your adding a rifle maybe go 223 so you can target those smaller critters (less of a barrel burner than 22-250)
