    Value of brass

    Hey Folks!

Got a query for those who know a tonne more than i do!

So as I'll be trickle feeding towards a reloading setup etc I've gone and located some brass for my 308.

Once fired Lapua brass that's been prepped including Polished etc.

$1 each and there's 400 available for purchase?

It seemed like a good deal to me but just wanting to clarify with some of the more experience hands on here.

Ok deal if it is in fact once fired, and even once fired as a reload could be damaged

Most probabley fine to use.....but honestly as your a new relaoder, i would pay the bit of extra money to buy new lapua. At least that way you know what you have, plus you know it will fit in your chamber...

If you do buy that once fired brass (you say prepped, Im assuming that means sized) would strongly suggest running them all through your chamber to check that they fit before loading them...

Cheers for the tips guys I appreciate it.

I've got A gentleman by the name of Rob Who writes reloading articles for nz guns n hunting to reload for me until funds allow purchase of my own press etc.

To be fair he did offer so I couldnt refuse when all he asked is that I supply the rifle etc and all the components.

You don't need to go and buy flash as brass like Lapua!

I use alot of Remington brass and find it's great brass to work with, I also have Lapua but i also have Prvi Partisan and find that top end brass also!

Wasn't impressed with Federal brass. Played with Hornady and thought that was ok... same for PMC

I always try to grab Remington brass if I can, failing that... then Prvi Partisan.

You'll find you'll only need about 50 cases.

    Just my 2 cents.
