Starting to load 308 and after some suggestions on a suitable pill for hunting in relatively tight bush , was thinking 150-165gr soft point like the Sierra gamekings and going to use 2206h powder as i use it in my 223.

I used speer 130 HP bullets for ages when I had a .308.
Still have a heap iirc.
Great accuracy. Killed really well and nice to shoot.

That's what I'm using, 3030 Sierra 150grains, very round nose so designed to be in the tube mag of a 3030
Sierra 150g Gamekings
165 Gamekings just because my rifle like them best over the 150's.

Barrel is 20inch 1in 10 twist but it might recieve a "trim"
180 hot-cor round nose soft points are not a bad choice for a dedicated bush rig
End of the day many will work just fine for bush work. It doesnt matter too much if you stick to the common projectiles. You dont need 165-200gr for the bush for a 308 to do the business , the lighter rounds will work as well as heavier rounds. More important to use or have a round that shoots accrurately out of your rifle and good shot placement tons of different ones will kill just fine. I use 150gr sst, they work, before that i used 150gr rem Corelolts, they work as well. Plenty of all the ones suggested on this thread all work and a FED powershok 100gr in my 243 works as good as any round ive used in my 308, dead is dead.
Take your pick , as long as its recommended for up close work it be fine.
130ttsx. Or 150 interloc or corelock as budget conscious option.

16" 308 I use hornardy 170gr 30-30 flatnose projectiles.
125 SST or 125 Nosler BT or Belmont 130 HP load
150 or 165 gn Interlok or 150 gn Speer Hotcor
Going to give the 165 interlocks a go
