I've officially reloaded more than 200 rounds so far in this journey.
FL Resized and loaded 34x rounds of 308 with 165sst and 2206h.
OAL about 72.5mm
Stuffed a few cases. Too much lube?

I'm using a Cast Bullet Engineering 509 -325.
I have used 1 1/2 FG Holy smoke (cartridge), but velocity was lower than expected at about 1600fps. First time with 2fg.
HS is the best powder I have used so far - burns cleaner than Swiss or the Curtis's and Harvey No6.
hopefully the 2fg cartridge will shoot well too.
Mine is a Westley Richards 1871 retailed by John Dickson & Son, Edinburgh.

Mine is a single shot - "Improved Martini" action Westley Richards.
Original loads were up around 1900fps
With the primer pin set very high, the expander might have been up high enough that it was trying to squeeze the neck against the expander. Not physically enough space for the neck of the cartridge to pass by them both at the same time. Don't ask me how I know... :DQuote:

subsonic load for the 222 - success! 55gr RN (modified with a FP) - for some sneaky shots on hares. Test target at 35m, 1st shot a bit high then changed the zoom, using a lower holdover fired shots 2-4 at bull, then shifted aim to the far left of the target as I couldn't see shot 4... which turned out to be pretty tight with shots 2-3...
