    what to use for cutting lead block

    been given a Block of pure lead 300x300 ish and probably 50mm thick weighs a ton lol
    what could I use to cut it in to useable chunks

    Put it on a solid block and use an axe. With a hacksaw the lead will clog the blade and you will still be cutting next Xmas!

    Melt the lot and then pour it into ingots of the size you want.
    It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.
    What more do we need? If we are above ground and breathing the rest is up to us!

    that's normally what id do but I don't have anything big enough to melt this much in one go the axe idea is worth a go

    I have found a axe to work well when cutting up old flashings etc to melt down

    Agree with the axe, borrow one of the neighbour

    Use a sabersaw or reciprocating saw with a course blade an axe will work but if 50mm thick will be hard work and shattering the handle will be a real possibility

    Cuts easy with a good old ordinary wood saw
