Who uses digital scales and what make?

My set of Lee safety scales are shite. I'm heavy handed so every time I touch them they get thrown out of whack. Looking at getting some digital scales to replace them. Seems to be a lot of conflicting opinions online, some guys say the majority of them are shit, some say you should have a good set of balance scales anyway. The offerings from Dillon and RCBS appear to be the only ones that get consistently good reports. Thoughts? Experiences?

    I have a Lyman DPS2 with the 3 upgrade.
I have had it for years, it cost a bit but with the amount I reload it is great
If it dies I will probably get a Charge master.
Contact me for reloading components, brass, projectiles, powder, primers, etc

I use a Hornady Digital set mainly because it's faster than the balance scales, but I check it every now and then against my Redding Balance scales, had it two years and it still seems to be ok.

Short of something like a Prometheus the Chargemaster is the only way to go. One of the best purchases I've made.

Yep Chargemaster. But if you are heavy handed and tend to knock things about, electronic scales won't take much abuse before they will be unreliable/inaccurate...
If it's not a first round hit you need to practice more

I have the Hornady GS - 1500 electronic scale that came with the Lock n Load classic kit I purchased.

I find it easy to use. a bit slow with the powder trickler and powder thrower. I did notice change in measurements once when the weather changed from a hot day to rain, pressure drop. They seem to be affected easily from a slight breeze.

I have no other scale to check against. from what I have been reading it seems standard practice???

I have read in the manual that best results are achieved when you tare the scales between each load. I had loaded 20 rounds without doing this and found when reweighing the first load it would be 0.2-0.5 gr different to the weight when first weighed????? but the pan would return to zero each time (without a tare) between loads.

I've got the GS-1500 scales also. I used them quite a bit after I bought them and thought they were going well. Untill a rechecked some weights like BAZ was saying and the loads were way out!!
Bought a RCBS balance scale straight after that.

The biggest problem I had was when its cold it would not hold a zero and wander everwhere.

Thanks for the replies. I bought myself a set of Dillon beam scales for now. I'm buying a new rifle in the next couple of weeks hopefully so need to keep money aside for that. I will look into the charge master when I have some spare cash to throw around
