If you want to improve neck tension consistency (which is what the crimp would be doing) then a a bushing die, mandrel combo is a much better way of doing it.
Or use a Lee collet neck die for a cheaper/easier alternative.
Outside of pistol and semi auto, virtually no one crimps any more.
You could easily give it a try if so inclined if you already have a crimp die, but I won't go out and buy one just to try it.
I crimp my .375 lever gun....I don't suppose too many semi auto centre fires around these days.
