Who's using them in 260 and what do you reckon?
Also any load data for 130 vld in 260 (mod 7 even better) with ADI 2209 would be cool, PM sweet if its sensitive;). I have 143 eldx but wanting to try the vld.

Yeah Im using 130 vld hunting in my sako 85.
43.0grs H4350/2209 works fine in my rifle with bullets seated out(just checked hodgdon load data and I see they list 42.7 as maximum),. Seem to recall not so long ago they were listing 44.0grs as maximum.
If you want load data for superformance powder check out barnes bullets load data. They have data for 120-140gr bullets in 260rem....
If you have a chance, try the new hornady 130 eld m, in my creedmoor they are as accurate as Berger 130 vld and a lot cheaper.
Be very cautious substituting barnes data for jacketed bullets.
They look pretty good, cheers
I couldn't get the 130 vlds to shoot in my 260R Model 7
From what I've read 43gr 2209 is a good place to start @Gibo.
i for see a 260 shoot off at the toby shoot
The Berger 135gn Classic hunter could be worth a look too.
i found they didn't kill well for me

Foot, ass, guts, you know... the kill zone.
@Gibo, didn't you have a sweet load for the 147 ELDs?
Nah had a sweet one for 143 eldx in the Sako I just moved on. Good news is the new 260 has no pressure at the same load weight while being seated in further. Have some 143 loads to try now but still want to try the 130s too.
130 berger shot sweet in my Forbes .44g of 2209 & 48.2 of r22 both tight not sure on speed ,trying to forget about speed when the groups are good.
The Berger 130gr VLD Hunting projectile shot great in my Sako 260Rem. I found they killed well on everything except small bodied game (small goats and hares, etc.) and occasionally they would pencil through if right up close. I had them over 3000fps out of a 26" barrel.
That rifle is now a full blown target rifle and so I have moved on to the 130gr Hybrids. Pretty sure I still have a box or two of the VLDs sitting at the reloading bench though.
Nice one Gillie,
If she likes them I may contact you about those bench cluterers ;)
So @Gibo, ELD-X got the boot. Whats the bully on 130 VLD's ? ;)
Elds did about 4" at best :wtfsmilie:
Vlds far better so will develop them
Well I bought 300+ vlds so we'll see how we go.
This is the test group I am going to run with for now. Shes seated well in being in a mod 7...big jump :) just on half an inch so should be ok ;)

@Gibo, how do the go velocity wise?
Using 45 of 2209 for a mere 2830 unvalidated at this stage mate. I am guilty of going to fast too soon in the past so trying the easy does it approach
Sounds good Gibo I am getting similar groups with 120 Amax and 45.5 I seated some 140's way out to where the bolt needs to be removed from the rifle so it will eject if the round isnt fired. I think I will go single shot on those puppies if they work out to be a good load. Was thinking they would be good at the Toby shoot, but I cant come.
Yeah il play with some single feed jobbies at a later date.
Almost group twins. Same calibre and weight projectile even. [emoji16]https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...b85fcfa7a5.jpg

So did the 10 x I gave you go ok? Or were they just to start the load dev?

Looks as if your new weapon is shooting fine. The redskin ain't to happy though. Kevin's Sako 260 is shooting a treat as well especially at distance.
[emoji106] nice
