    Awesome!

I run the ghost rings on my 30-30 lever but have a 1895SBL in bound which I have a small red dot and a vx5hd 1-5 for. See if they ruin the lines or not.

Personally I think it should be badass. Will have to get some hand loads sorted for it.

Awesome @Nibblet you won't regret that purchase, the vx5 would make it a very versatile rig.
@Marty Henry Standard model I believe, itsan original JM stamped Marlin.

A 45-70 in its natural habitat. Remmington made with no issues I removed factory (what ever it is) and gave it a Tung oil finish.

57grs AR2207 and Hornady 300gr projectiles these are doing 2110fps out of the 18.5 barrel.

Second load is 51grs AR2207 and Hornady 350gr FP for around 1950fps.

Both shooting around 1 inch groups at 50m with ghost ring sights.
Cheers. Where do get the sights?

Mine came with the rifle when I bought it however, most shop's in the states have them or your local should be able to get them in. The two main aftermarket brands are XS sights and Skinner sights.

I have a single shot Springfield 73 which I bought off a nice chap here on the forum. Off the bench, with 70 grain blackpowder loads or even ''low powered'' 50 grains of Varget, with a 405 grain bullet it hits you like heartache, as they say. I havn't taken it out anywhere apart from the range at the moment, although I am dead keen to get a deer with it.

For the carbine a cartridge with a lighter charge of 55 grains was used if that helps your shoulder.
