Why can't I get AR2209 in the South Island

Why can't I get AR2209 in the South Island, has it become a prohibited and scary substance in the last two years?

Imagine how much money you would have made over the last 24 months if you had a couple pallet loads of Reloder 26 to sell in the South Island.

I'd be standing on my street corner selling it in dime bags.

Is there a maximum weight of powder allowed to be transported for personal use? Its bloody pricey getting a vehicle over the strait, would need to be carrying a lot or huge profit margins to make it worthwhile

Good point cant say I tried.

Don't want to start again with load development on several calibers when my current recipes are to my liking.

    Maybe I am just lazy

H4350 is the same as 2209

There hasn't been a powder run down here from Steves for a while now

I can understand that, it costs a lot of time & money...much easier to just sell it in the North Island......

Which has been happening with the likes of RL26 being available up there but not down here...by the time they come down here it will be all gone again......

    Pretty sure its 15 kilos.
I dont know what walk on passengers could carry but they have a set oxf requirement and list of stuff they dont like carrying.
It would be interesting to learn how explosives get across the strait as although they arent poeder seems to be lumped in the same basket.

@Kiwi Greg , @xtightg It is my understanding that Steve's wholesale is looking to or trying to set up a battery (fancy term for powder warehouse) here in the south island and getting powder shipped directly there. All because the ferry's wont take it on a DG trailer like he used to bring. It has to be more stable than petrol and that comes across quite frequently (think how much there has to be in every car tank on the boat) and diesel (the dam boat runs on the stuff...) .....
