Do you think it necessary or appreciable benefit to run magnum primers with win 760?

It can't hurt. I have experianced ignition issues with ball powder and standard primers in other cartridges. Anything using small rifle primers I use CCI450's. Mind you, I have used 760 in 6.5x55 with standard primers without issue.
I run 760 with standard primers in a 260 imp and have good ES. Not as good as I had with 2209 but plenty good enough for what I do with it.
Gives me a bit better velocity for less as well with 120-130 grn bullets.
Will now try some mag primers to see if there is any improvement tho.

Do what ya want! Ya will anyway.
I use W760 in my 243 and have always used standard primers with no issues.
Shut up, get out & start pushing!
I've run H414 (760) for years in various cartridges, I always use mag primers (fed 215) with it.
It goes well in my 17" barreled 284 :-)
Thanks for all replies...ill try some magnums some time to see if there's any improvement...mostly I think I'm the limiting factor and don't go looking for improvement if things are going ok.
Nice powder to trickle up load weights with though aye.
Use 760 in my 338 Win Mag with Magnum primers works well.
I use magnum primers for everything except subsonics.
looking at older manuals with .270win data some recipies call for magnum primers and another doesnt for same load/powder.
reason I use magnum primers is we bought heap cheap......
I use standard CCI 200 Large Rifle with W760 (H414) amd Win 780 Supreme.
Have not had any issues but have only run 2 rounds with the W780 across a Crono.
They were within 5 fps but 2 is not a reliable sample.
I do have a grouping problem with the W780.
