    Winchester primers

I brought some of the above from the local gun shop. I loaded them and half of them work and half didn't. i tried the ones that didn't work in 3 different rifles. When I took the ones that didn't work back to the shop he told me that it was how I loaded them. Is this possible or is it the primers fault. I did nothing different when loading these ones to all the other ones that I have loaded. Any ideas? Thanks.

The only miss fires Iv EVER had was in a rossie single shot with issues, If you have never had this problem before i would be pointing finger at the primers.

I find Winchester primers do tend to seat a bit deeper than Federal, probably because they are a little smaller in diameter and are easier to seat right home in the pocket.
I have had bad primers before that would not fire but they were Federal, so could be primer or could be seating.

    Winchester primers

The only primer manufacturer I have consistently heard of having problems are Winchester. I have not used them and I doubt I ever will.

Firing pin protrusion is limited, so if you pin protrusion is on the short side you can end up with light primer strikes if the primer seats deep. Some brass/primer combs will have the primer sitting well inside the case head.
