Tiny 22cal rimfire, shown alongside a 22LR. Appears to have a copper case and the projectile is lead RN with some sort of black coating. Lacquer? Headstamp looks to be an Acorn.
Cheers

I know a lot but it seems less every day...
Flobert or something?
Looks like a .22 BB. - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/.22_BB
Also known as the Flobert
6mm Flobert made by RWS
They used to produce CB (conical) and BB caps for gallery guns.
I have a round tin of the BB version.
No powder, just the energy of the primer.
Mine are acorn marked as well. IIRC the tin is labelled RWS.
Edit: Mostly covered in the wiki link above.
Ok great, thanks. What firearms shot them available in NZ?
Pistol or rifle? These were found in an attic

Yes I did a quick search with Mr Google. GC even have a 9mm one for sale and Gunworks has the ammo. But I'm really only interested in calibres I can reload these days, apart from 22.
Thks for all the responses.

Way back when I was a teenager, my girlfreinds Dad use to have a tin sitting on the window ledge in his batch. We'd use them for popping off the rabbits with a 22 rifle, around the batch.
I was tempted a number of times to get a flobert pistol at auction and try shoot it in the garage (and at stray cats...), but couldn't find ammo at the time.
