If your loading long projectiles like ELDX OR Bergers get the hornandy dies and the extra insert for eldx projectiles.
I bought the lee kit and had to get the insert machined out by gunworkswas about $15, not a big issue but it does mean if I ever decide to load standard length projectiles I'll need to buy another insert for the seating die.
@dannyb I stilll had issues with the ELD seating stems, running a slightly compressed load it was pressing a ring around the projectile. Only dies that worked for me was the Redding ones with VLD seater.
Bad timing, I sold my 270 dies last week...
Have a heap of projectiles and cases. You are interested send me a PM.
Cheers for the info guys .
Currently running factory 130g ssts doing 3030
Out of a suppressed model 70 24 inch barrel I think and from what I can Google 1:10 twist.
Not sure where to start in terms off powders and projectiles, cant seem to find the thread with @Mooseman
Load .
Have 80 hornady cases and 20 federal
Pm inbound @257weatherby .
Can anyone point me in the right direction in terms of powder and projectile. Was reading a thread the other week with good info from @Ryan_Songhurst @dannyb @Mooseman but cant seem to find it
Cheers!
Either Berger 150g or eldx 145g and this powder https://www.gunworks.co.nz/shop/item/adi-ar2213sc
Should see you right, what rifle specs ? What intended use ?
i have some ar2213sc powder if you want a bit to try some
Agree with staring with ar2213sc, very good powder from 270, especially given your 24" barrel.
Projectiles suggested above are good also 150gr SST and 140gr AB. Bullet choice depends somewhat on what u are shooting at.
