Few close ones, not bad given the distances involved. :)
Were you allowing for inclination?
Using a Leupold RX-1000i TBR range finder, so yes the distances are the true horizontal distance.
A little wind in the valleys that was changing direction a bit. Still working on the wind estimation.
Pretty close guys. Did you hit any?
We hit a few out to 500 yards, but every time I got the camera out............ you can see the results. The weekend prior we go quite a few out to 460 yards but in crap weather so left the camera in the ute.
Also took the 223 for some close one. Elected to use the bigger gear as these little guys take some knocking down cleanly, so the 140gr pills are a whole lot better than a 55gr, especially at a distance.
Looking forward to our next trip!
The federal 130 blue box are ok out to about 500, but the 140 SST reloads are going to make life a lot easier!
Thats some serious distance alright.
Where was that?
Eastern side of Hunter Hills, all DOC land. Just picked a Sunday day after a week of rain.
Get on a ridge that you can see sunny faces and it happens.
Brilliant. You fellah's in the SI are spoiled for choice although I was out with Barefoot and Mohawk660 yesterday (goats) and the Mohican is out again today with Moonhunt (pigs) so it is not as if we don't have choices but we certainly don't have the array of quarry that you have
Excellent stuff. I need to fill the freezer again too.
