Couple of pics of my rigs

Here are a couple of pics of my rifles, both are factory rifles used for rabbits, foxes and birds. Varminting is big in Ireland, we have ridiculous numbers of bunnies and red fellas that its a sport in itself. I'm saving for a deer rifle and to do some work to both of these (upgrade glass etc) but times are tough and work is non existent! Anyway, I keep them pretty clean, I'm fussy with my gear, both are great shooters for factory rifles!

Nice rigs Marc, see you use 'suppressors' as well....are the firearm laws pretty strict over there as a consequence of 'the troubles'?

as an 'ex pat' from Liverpool, it was impossible to get 'any' firearm when i lived back there in the 70s/80s........

do you shoot on private land?

Haven't got a trade, went to college studied automobile and transport technology, no bloody work using that!! Pity, I'd come back to nz in a flash!

The gun laws here are a bit obscure, you must have a separate license for each rifle/gun. To have a mod, you must apply, sometimes you may get granted the license for the rifle and not the moderator!!

We also have limits on ammo purchasing I.e for my .17 I can only hold 60 rounds in my possession. The balls about that is you can't buy in bulk, which means I'm paying 30/35/40 euro a box! However the silly thing about it is that you can take your license to a gun store, buy your limit of ammo, go to the next store and do the same!!

Reloading is also banned, this IMO is a direct result of the troubles!

The Leprachaun's come out after midnight and put a fourth leaf on all Shamrock's making them just as lucky as Clover but the spell wears off when a non believer approaches.

Our laws are in a seemingly constant state of flux the last few years :mad::rolleyes:

Hopefully they sort there shit out with some simple clear not too restrictive laws that will stay put for a while.

there is an arm oficers meting, in a few months, all the oficers have bee "called" to a meting in september i think, to in form them of the new changes,i spoke to the arms oficer a few days ago here in p north, i have an ahn90 (ak74) and the r 15, he beleves that the r 15 mite have to be regested as an Ecat but the ak mite not have to.

1. Definition of "pistol grip"
As earlier advised, the key objective for this meeting was to develop a definition of "pistol grip", in order to complete the definition of a MSSA that is in the 2012 Amendment Act. (If a semi-automatic (rifle or shot gun) has this type of pistol grip, then it will be classified as an MSSA.) The definition needs to more or less align with the interpretation of free standing pistol grip that Police applied from 1992 to 2009. Police is not intending to involve the element of military pattern in the definition, but to focus on the free standing nature of the pistol grip.

The draft definition put forward for feedback is as follows:

Free-standing pistol grip means -
(a) the bottom of the grip of the firearm is not supported by or is not part of any one piece or integral structure (excluding the trigger guard)connecting the grip to the stock ; and
(b) does not include a thumbhole, or Dragunov style stock.
