Me too. We fly down from Auckland, hire a car and stay for a few days. Problem is the rabbit population will re-populate in the time it takes us to fly back to Auckland.

At that range, no. We got close but just annoyed them rather than hit them. But got them later when we were closer. My PB is just under 400m across the gully in the back of the photo. Anything under 240 ish is basically point and click, but I also use my Howa for 200m silhouette shooting so I've put a few rounds downrange with it...
We still get quite a few with the shottie and .22 at night anyway, going on the farm for longer range stuff is my zen relaxation place.
Well I'm bloody sick of prepping cases!

Its a RCBS Universal. Excellent primer tool and the best I have used. A little bit more expensive but worth every penny.

Unfortunately for us it rained Thursday - Saturday around Napier so we were holed up in camp. Visibility was too poor to hunt due to the cloud cover etc. Lots of sleeping and too much eating. Went for a quick stalk Saturday evening and picked up a nice fat hind for the freezer. Sun came out Sunday and we nailed 908 rabbits between two of us. I had to head back to Auck early Monday morning as my youngest had been admitted to hospital with a spider bite which required surgery, but my brother stayed on and shot another 350 rabbits on Monday and a hind in the evening. A weekend of two halves.

Yea the daughter ( 8 yrs) was with me one arvo about a month ago, when I shot one. Thought I nailed it as it was on its back rolling around. By the time I made the gun safe I looked up and bastard had decamped the scene. ( may change my forum name to bung eye dickhd) let the Gwp out he tracked it pointed it, I told him to fetch it, and he was a bit hard of mouth, crunched it a bit.Quote:
