Well I was close, ran out on Monday morning and used my emergency Hornady 55gr in the afternoon


Complete carnage here, @40 with the rifle in @ an hour, with shot gunners driving them over towards me. They got @60 on their quick walk around while I rested and sat in the sun.

Yes. Gotta admit I am pretty envious on the mainland hunters and their opportunities.

Me too. We fly down from Auckland, hire a car and stay for a few days. Problem is the rabbit population will re-populate in the time it takes us to fly back to Auckland.


Mate trying for some very long range shots on the far hillside. Turns out according to Google maps it was @650m

Crikey mate. That's a bit over shottie range! Were you able to hit many at that distance?

At that range, no. We got close but just annoyed them rather than hit them. But got them later when we were closer. My PB is just under 400m across the gully in the back of the photo. Anything under 240 ish is basically point and click, but I also use my Howa for 200m silhouette shooting so I've put a few rounds downrange with it...

We still get quite a few with the shottie and .22 at night anyway, going on the farm for longer range stuff is my zen relaxation place.

Its a RCBS Universal. Excellent primer tool and the best I have used. A little bit more expensive but worth every penny.
