I think the Waikato has an underestimated rabbit/hare population. I only shoot on one farm in the area and pick up a handful mix of rabbits/hares everytime. (about twice a month)

When driving to work from cambridge to Hamilton there are plenty on the side of the roads.
Just a shame they're mostly 50m from a house
