Hi, Anyone know where I can buy a Geissele 2 stage Hi Speed match trigger? Model I'm after is 05-127. I can order one through Brownells but can't get the paper work sorted as I don't know what is required.
Anyone Ordered in I TAR items and able to Help??? Would love to but one from NZAR15.com but they don't import this model.

AO is your local Arms Officer at the police station

I spoke to my local Arms Offficer who told me that I didn't need a permit for the trigger. Question now is where do I get said permit? Do I ask him for one anyway?

Ask him for one anyway.
You need the permit from your AO - Customs will NOT let a trigger through without it.
Its free, costs you little time, and often a chat with your AO really pays off

Some AOs will not issue a permit for something which does not require one, which is actually the NZ Police Policy.

There is no provision for Police to issue a permit to import for components of firearms, other than those that fall within the definition of ‘part’ above.

If you can get one, great, but you do not need one.

NZ Customs WILL let a trigger through for an A category firearm, because there is no law which allows them to withhold it.

Every time I've had Ruger 10/22 triggers - from complete assemblies through to just a Volquartsen hammer - come into the country, they've been held by NZ Customs and a permit required for release.
EVERY TIME.

Because it could be for an E cat 10/22. Confirm that it's for an A cat and they'll release it without a permit.

First, I'd ask digit? if he will. I'd suggest that no small importer here is going to hold comprehensive stock.

Otherwise so the paper work is pretty easy once you are shown how.

I have all this done recently myself and banana for one also has done it lots by the look of it.

I will post my paperwork as an example later as its in work, to set you off if you want to deal with Brownells, let me know.

I would suggest 2 more things,

a) Sign and DATE the purchase order. Sandy sent my purchase order back as while I had signed the covering letter I had not signed AND dated the purchase order and the state dept f**kwit rejected it. Anyway my spikes BCG was paid for and shipped yesterday yeah!

b) Ring/email your AO and just let him/her know you are doing this, just in case you get an awkard asshole in NZ Customs. Shouldn't happen for a trigger but Ive had to deal with some real assholes in Customs over the years who frankly are clueless, arrogant, ignorant pricks who have huge power to do as they please and weild it. I also think its good to build a relationship with your AO, keeping on his good side is worth the 5min call/email IMHO.

Not being picky - but the original question we're talking about is an AR15 trigger!
These days with the media clamoring and the overseas school shootings, and the AOS being called out if there is even a remote chance of a firearm being within 50km of an event.......
Cover your ass. Save yourself the grief, get a permit for anything you import.
NZ Customs (generally) are numptys.

Brownells sent me a new export form its much easier to fill in. Plus the sample letter and purchase order I used. I'd upload them, at least I would if they wernt blocked by this site
