    Ghillie suits

Anyone using Ghillie suits? Thinking of getting one so I can sneak up on the magpies, they have gotten a bit wary around here.

Get a $12 decoy from h&f which you may not need. And a distress call cd or ipod tune I think there at hunting and fishing too.
    Works a charm!
Or welcome to long range shooting.

Chances are that even with a Gillie suit magpies will still see your movement and fly off.
Magpies usually frequent the same spots, so I'd find some tress or bushes and just hide and wait for them.

Haven't ever seen the need personally to go super sniper on them.

I would tend to agree as even a window opening at home scares them off since we have slayed many, many magpies from the house. Movement is definitely your enemy. There are many magpie distress calls on the net that can be downloaded to bring them in nice and close and in to an area that you are well set up for.

So ambush rather than stalk, otherwise increase the caliber to enable longer shots.
